The Nativity

Each year my father kicks off the Christmas holiday by displaying his nativity scene. As the family has grown it has become quite the production, all the grandkids and great grandkids adding a hand. This year was no exception! For the big finale, Mom wanted to get everyone together for a picture! This in itself is a production alone knowing how toddlers are! Watch the video and have a jolly laugh as the Norris clan tries to capture the true meaning of Christmas!

Fun at the Frank's

Each year, our family and the Frank clan get together for food, fun, and fellowship. This year we ventured to Evansville over Labor Day weekend. Although we had rain much of the weekend and had to regroup on the Holiday World adventure, we still had loads of fun. In this picture you see Thomas and some of the Frank grandchildren at Gattiland.

Swimming with Addyson

My niece, Addyson, got to spend the day swimming with Mimi (me), Nana, LuLu (Aunt Amy) and Thomas! We had so much fun! She was such a terrific swimmer too. She enjoyed getting in the big pool, but preferred the small pool where she could stretch out and get some real rays! Her Mama and Daddy both called to check on her, but she was busy thinking about jumping off the diving board and was a little busy at the time! I look forward to many more fun times with this sweet little girl!!

Nighttime Intruder

As we arrived home the other night, we noticed that the security light was on in the back of our building. When we drove behind there to check out what was going on, I noticed something white moving at the edge of the tree line adjacent to our property. Thinking it was a white cat we decided to come back to the house. But all of a sudden, Paul says, "I think that is a white raccoon!!". He just out of the car and yells for me to get out my camera! Of course, being the great scrapper I am (lol), I had my new camera with me. So Paul runs to the tree line to snap a few shots of our nighttime intruder, a white raccoon!

Just a swingin'!

After a short weekend trip, Paul and I visited the boys and enjoyed playing on their new swing set. Blake is so big and can climb up the ladder and go down the slide all by himself. He loved challenging Grandaddy to see who could swing the highest!

Swimming with Blake

Today I filmed Blake playing in Granny's pool with his mommy! He didn't like it much at first, but after a few minutes he began to enjoy it more!

My Father!

Not many people can say that they have wonderful parents. However, I am so blessed to be able to do so!! I am so lucky to have parents who are still married and who give so abundantly to their family and friends! My father is such an exceptional man! The quality that I admire the most about him is his faith. There is not a time in my life that I can remember that Daddy did not share his love of Jesus Christ with our family and those around him! What a beautiful testimony. Such passion for the salvation of everyone around him! Thank you Daddy for you love to me and our family, your hard work to help provide for our family, and you exemplary example in our community!! I love you!

Loretta Lynn Trail Ride

May 30th to June 6th, Paul spent the week riding Shadow at the annual Loretta Lynn Trail Ride at her ranch in Tennessee. There were many riders there from around the country. He met people from as far away as Texas. You know Paul, never met a stranger! The ride was kicked off with a concert by Loretta herself. She is pictured on the left in the red dress. The trail ride began on Monday and then everyone packed up and headed their ways Saturday. Three meals were provided each day. Paul had a great time and looks forward to keeping in touch with the new friends he made.

Blake turns 2!

Blake and his family enjoyed sharing his second birthday together! His Mommy and Daddy bought him a new swing set! He opened several gifts and lots of cards! He especially liked blowing out his candle. He was having so much fun on his new slide, it was hard to come in and eat cake! Mimi and Grandaddy gave him money for his swing, new clothes, books and a stuffed dog.

New family addition

Smokey is our newest addition to the family! He is a Tennessee Walking horse that Paul bought from a friend. He is a beautiful horse and knows it. As I was taking his picture, he pranced and high-stepped in front of the camera! He is gentle and likes to be rubbed between his ears. Paul is going to have so much fun riding him!

Amanda turns 30!

Do you need help blowing out 30 candles, Amanda?? Looks like Rodney had to lend some air! My sister-in-law celebrated her 30th birthday yesterday with friends and family. What a great surprise! We enjoyed celebrating at Mariah's and the cake was delicious, even though there was a little wax from ALL those candles! Happy 30th birthday!

Spring Break 2009

For spring break this year, Paul and I spent a few days in Pigeon Forge with his great aunt and uncle. They have a motor home and invited us. We had fun talking, souveniring, and, of course, eating out! However, the weather was quite unpredictable! One day it was in the 70's and the next it snowed!! Here are a couple of pictures from the trip.

Killer Cat

Shelby Girl

This is my cat, Shelby. Yes, she has the same name as the grandbaby! So now we call her Shelby Girl. As you can see she loves to sleep, especially right after she eats. I've never really liked cats, but one day she showed up at my doorstep and we've had her ever since. She is so sweet!

Yard work

Grandaddy and Blake enjoyed mowing this afternoon. I babysat the kids and Paul helped by letting Blake get his first mowing experience! He loved helping his grandaddy steer the mower. I'm sure Paul is looking forward to the day Blake can do this on his own!

My Mother

I enjoyed the day with my mother, Loretta. She is such a wonderful mother and granmother. Growing up, she (and my father) always made our home the one everyone wanted to be at! Our front yard always had a ball diamond worn out in it, and she never complained...well not that often! She was and still is involved in everything we do. She always encourages us to be the best we can be...I am forever grateful! But the trait that I love most about my mother is her Christian life! Thank you Mama!! I love you and always will!!

A day with Mimi

Blake and Shelby spent the day at my house today. Natalie had had oral surgery and needed some rest. After rain in the morning, it turned out to be quite nice! We got to blow bubbles and ride on the tricycle. There's always loads of fun at Mimi's house!!
